Music to end blogs by

With apologies to Bob Crewe and Andy Williams, here is a digital twist on a song from my youth with which I bring this blog to a close.

The boys watch the girls watch the boys on their smartphones as the world goes by,
Eye to AI, they solemnly convene around their screens.
Could be a video game, an SMS or a meme on any app they’ve found.
Swipe up and down, Android or iOS, the finger’s boss.

You say, “Siri hey, where can I cut my hair?”
So real you feel convinced she really cares.

It’s keepin’ track of exactly who you snapped on SnapChat
That makes the adds flow ’round;
“What’s that sound?” Each time you hear a loud resounding crack,
You’ve dropped your phone and have to take it back.

3D selfie, virtual reality
With cool pics on Netflix, who really needs TV?

But with the need to delete all the crap on WhatsApp
You use your battery up;
“Wtf” You worry that you’ll get no likes today
And end up tweeting your life away.

So the boys watch the girls watch the boys on their smartphones as the world goes by,
Eye to AI, they solemnly convene around their screens.

La, la, la, la, la, la …
